Dulux Colourfutures 2023

For the past 20 years, Dulux colour experts have been translating global insights into a Colour of the Year that matches the mood of the moment. The shade for 2023 is Wild Wonder – a positive, glowing tone, inspired by the natural world. 

Earlier this week Dulux brought nature indoors, to our London showroom where guests heard first-hand about the inception of Wild Wonder™ from one of the key visionaries behind it, Dulux Creative Director, Marianne Shillingford. 

“Wild wonder is a metameric colour that changes as the light moves across the sky during the day. So, this colour starts off looking green, soft, soft green, moves into the most beautiful golden barley, and in the evening it becomes a cool gold.”

Dulux have created four easy-to-use colour palettes around Wild Wonder: Lush, Buzz, Raw and Flow. Each tells the story of a different way that nature inspires us.

Marianne was joined by a panel of Dulux experts including, Lisa Pilley, Senior Colour Designer and Pete Howard, Sustainability Lead who spoke about commercial colour specification and sustainability. Katherine Hatch-Morelli, Interior Designer & FF&E Consultant - Healthcare & Education Sectors at Stride Treglown, gave guests her take on the colour and talked about how Wild Wonder™, with its palettes, can be put into practice. The panel was indrocuced by Jose Antonio Jimenez-Lozano - Managing Director, AkzoNobel UK&I.
